Karan Lal

Karan Lal

Counsellor

Karan, holding a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) and currently pursuing a Master’s in Psychology at UQ, has primarily worked as a mental health disability support worker. Over the years, Karan has also contributed as a Lifeline Crisis supporter and a substance use counsellor. Embracing a person-centered and strengths-based approach, Karan believes in acknowledging the unique journeys of individuals, recognizing them as experts of their own lives. This belief underpins Karan’s commitment to cultivating deep, empathetic relationships, marked by openness, sensitivity, and a non-judgmental attitude towards people from diverse backgrounds.

In addition to a professional interest in psychology, Karan has a keen personal interest in exploring various spiritual traditions and narratives. Karan also enjoys spending time in nature, meditating and is an avid rock climber.

Ebonee Birthisel

Mental Health Practitioner

Ebonee holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science, completed at Central Queensland University. Ebonee has worked as a Community Mental Health Practitioner, within a short-stay residential facility, providing person centred support to clients, assisting with their recovery goals. Ebonee is passionate about supporting and providing psychoeducation to people of all ages and backgrounds. Ebonee’s experience as a practitioner have allowed her to remain open-minded, providing a non-judgemental approach.

Outside of work, Ebonee enjoys spending time in nature, exploring new places and most importantly time with family.

Cate Sherlock

Social Worker

Cate is an accredited social worker with a Bachelor of Human Services and a Masters in Social Work from La Trobe University. Cate is an accredited social work member with the Australian Association of Social Work. She has additional qualifications with a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from the University of South Australia.

Cate is a dedicated and passionate Social Worker with 12 years of experience working within various roles and settings in South Australia, Northern Territory and Victoria.

Cate has been described as friendly, warm, honest, caring and empathetic. She is a person-centred practitioner who provides one-to-one counselling using a range of tools, and techniques to support people to explore their goals, develop skills and build their capacity to live a fulfilling life. 

In her spare time, Cate loves going to the gym, spending time with family and travelling.

Tasneem Fataar

Tasneem Fataar

Social Worker

Tasneem (Taz) Fataar, a Griffith University graduate with a Bachelor of Social Work, experienced in working with various age groups. Her diverse background includes roles like community development worker, homelessness support worker, mental health clinician, general counsellor, principal well-being advisor, group facilitator and social coach. 
 
She values individualised care, adapting treatment plans to meet unique needs in a holistic manner and ensuring clients feel safe. Tasneem uses a variety of Focused Psychological Services all of which are grounded in evidence-based modalities.
 
Beyond her profession, Tasneem enjoys swimming, connecting with nature, being surrounded by animals, listening to audiobooks and socialising with loved ones.

Alana Chittick

Social Worker

Alana holds a Bachelor of Social Work, completed at Newcastle University in NSW and is an accredited member of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW). Alana has over 10 years’ experience mostly working within mental health, child and family health, sexual assault and trauma.

Alana is deeply committed to empowering individuals, families and communities to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. Alana’s approach is rooted in empathy, cultural competence, and a strengths-based perspective, recognizing the inherent resilience and dignity of every individual.

In her spare time Alana enjoys spending time with her family, socializing with friends and going on bushwalks.

John Pearson

Managing Director of

John holds Bachelor of Applied Science (CSU), Bachelor of Teaching (USQ), Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management (Flinders), Post Graduate Diploma in Educational and Social Research (London), Master of Administrative Leadership (UNE), and a Master of Science with Distinction in Business Psychology (Loughborough).

John is accredited with the British Psychological Society in the use of psychometric test instruments and is a current Full Member of the Association of Business Psychologists.

John also holds the position of Adjunct Professor at Torrens University’s Chifley Business School, Brisbane, and Associate Professor at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Kerry Hudson

Kerry obtained a Master of Social Work Professional Qualifying on Wiradjuri land and brings extensive life experience. She has several years’ experience providing counselling, advocating, arranging community connections and client referrals within various settings.  
 
Kerry enjoys client diversity and works from a non-judgemental, person-centred approach. She seeks to establish an honest, genuine and trusting working relationship with her clients. She enjoys listening and exploring each client’s life story, discovering and fostering skills and strengths and supporting their unique recovery and growth journey. 

Kerry is supportive of connections between past, present and future; environment, community and family; and the interconnection between spirt, mind and body to improve overall health and well-being.
 
Raised in nature on Gundungurra land she continues to enjoy the peace that visiting this area brings her. 

Outside work Kerry enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her two golden retrievers. She loves a good comedy or a mystery movie, singing and dancing badly and spending time in nature and in her community.

Suzi Nwoye

Suzi Nwoye

Social Worker

Suzi is a Social Worker (BSoc Wk, BArts [Psych]) and a 5th generation Australian woman with European and American heritage, who is blessed to live and work on Quandamooka country.
 
Developed over many years of working with people in prisons, rehabs and out-of-home care services, Suzi has a deep interest in how trauma impacts individuals’ and families’ wellbeing. She continues to learn more about how early experiences and ongoing chronic stress affect individuals and how to help people discover new ways of relating and coping.
 
As a parent of a young child, Suzi spends time outside of work inhabiting the local parks and coffee shops and daydreaming about travelling the world.

Natalie has more than 20 years of experience in Social Work, holds a Bachelor Degree in Social Work, and is currently registered with AASW. Her professional profile reflects a well-rounded and dedicated social worker with a diverse skill set and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of her clients. Her expertise in specialized rehabilitation, mental health, aged care, and community outreach showcases a comprehensive understanding of various social work domains.

Beyond her professional attributes, Natalie brings a personal touch to her interactions, creating a compassionate and client-focused environment. Her interests in jogging, yoga, qigong, and painting showcase a well-rounded individual who values holistic well-being and creativity. This personal touch not only enhances her ability to build meaningful connections but also contributes to a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Natalie’s commitment to active listening, innovative solutions, and a collaborative approach signifies her dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of those she serves. Clara Murray

Clara is a qualified social worker holding a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Dublin City University and a master’s degree in social work from Trinity College Dublin. With a background in rehabilitation, Clara is dedicated to providing holistic social work practices, considering all aspects of an individual’s journey.

Specialising in grief and bereavement, Clara draws from five years of volunteering experience with children and families facing serious illness or loss. She approaches counselling in a non-prescriptive and person-centred manner, recognizing individuals as the experts in their own lives.

In her personal time, Clara immerses herself in traditional Irish music, finds solace in beach walks and swims, and values connecting with family and friends.

Kandice Senturias

Kandice Senturias

Social Worker

Kandice has a Masters of Social Work. She has over 7 years of experience as a social worker in the areas of disability, family violence and youth mental health. She is a member of the Australian Association of Social Worker’s.
 
Kandice is passionate about providing a culturally safe and trauma-informed space for people. She uses a strength-based and self-compassionate approach to support people with their goals. 
 
In her free time, Kandice loves reading, travelling and painting.
